I'm more in favor of a EBAY-YHOO merger. One of
YHOO'smost value assets is its 40% share in China
portal AliBaba. AliBaba owns Chinese auction site
Taobao and also owns Alipay which is the chinese
equivalent to paypal. Its really a perfect fit for
Ebay.

Would a GOOG - YHOO merger do well from GOOG"s
perspective? Probably, but its too messy for GOOG and I
can't see them doing it. They tend to buy private
companies with very specific niche technologies. GOOG
is buying engineering teams, not necessarily complex or
faltering businesses.
