Almost everyone who is an investor knows how solid investing in the real estate market has been for the past fifty years, and still continues to be a much better option than investing in stocks and bonds.

What the investor must be aware of before they get into real estate is that they have to understand that this is lot more complicated than other types of investing while having absolutely nothing to do with the buying of a home but much more than that.

So as an introduction to this type of investment, here are a few types of real estate investments that you can make:

#1: Basic Rental Properties

This is one of the oldest forms of real estate investing which is nothing but being a landlord of a property and renting it out to tenants. All the landlord has to do is pay the mortgage, taxes and other costs associated with maintenance and enjoy the rent that comes in month after month.

#2: Real Estate Trading

This is very similar to the buying of properties to rent out (being a landlord) but the only difference between the two is that this type of real estate investment will last for only three to four months after which the property in question will be sold for a profit. It is also known as ‘flipping’.

#3: REITs

In this form of investment, REITs are nothing but a publicly-traded instrument where a corporation uses investors’ money to buy and operate income properties. The primary reason why REITs are so popular is because it allows these corporations to avoid corporate tax.

Article written by Mark Harrisian of Online Investment Guide.

There’s no doubt that the last few years has seen torrential times when it comes to investing as many people have not only lost a lot of money but have also lost their confidence in being able to make the right investment choices as well.

So, in order to counter the doom and gloom that affects people these days, here are a few tips from the Warren Buffet, who is considered to be an investing genius:

#1: Be frugal

Frugality is a lifestyle choice, when you come to think of it, and it has been something that Buffet has been come to be famous for. He still lives in the same home and drives his own vehicle, and that says for a lot because obviously he has more to invest.

#2: The ‘fat pitch’ is what you have to wait for

Buying or selling stock has never been the right thing to do as this will only result in losses regularly. Instead, you should wait for the fat pitch patiently which more often than not comes due to market turbulence.

#3: Go against the crowd

One of the Buffet’s favorite principles is to go against the crowd when it comes to making money as their analysis is always a reflection of their understanding of the market prices. Often, when there is negative public opinion, it is the best time to buy stock. Conversely, it is better for you to desist from buying when investors are careful.

Almost everyone who has been associated with a broker from time to time has lost money. Yet ever so often, there comes a time when you realize that they don’t necessarily deserve your loyalty since their profitability is directly dependent on the understanding of trading that their clients have of the stock market.

In most cases, they convince the client of great profits but sooner or later, there is more than one loss but what remains is the commission that you might have agreed with them on, as soon as you began your association with them. To put it simply, most experts believe that they’re all very eager to drain your account clean.

Perhaps one of the reasons why this is true is because unlike CTAs or fund managers whose best interests are directly linked to that of their clients (through taking a percentage of the profits if generated), brokers always get a commission even if the trading advice given to their clients are good, bad or just plain useless.

Strangely enough, the only way by which the brokerage industry measures the success of its performers is by how much commission they made in that year, and which has nothing to do with their clients’ profitability. So it only makes sense that he gets you to trade as much as possible so that he gets his commission from time to time.

So what should this tell you?

That you, as the investor, has to learn not to depend on the broker but make your choices when it comes to trading because even if you do find a good broker, you’ll have to learn to make those trades by yourself in the long run, making the broker (good or bad) irrelevant.

Article written by Jack Minas of Financial Resources 101

Perhaps the best way to find out whether the stock you are planning to buy is from a small cap company is to check as to whether or not the market capitalization value is $ 1 billion or less. One easy way to do this is to multiply the number of outstanding shares with the current price per share.

Yet most experienced investors will tell you that there is a greater degree of risk involved when it comes to investing in these types of shares. So here is a list of risk involved with investing in small cap stocks:

Risk #1: Larger competitors always have the upper hand on smaller companies.

Risk #2: When market conditions are less than feasible, it’s only the bigger companies that will stand while the smaller ones fade away due to the inability to raise enough capital to deal with the economic downturn that might occur.

Risk #3: Most of these small companies are based on an idea, and very often they fail due to the inability to hand over the governance of their company to a real professional who can bring the idea to fruition.

Risk #4: Perhaps the biggest reason as to why it is considered to be such a gamble to invest in these types of companies is because they have been in the market for only a short period of time. Thus, investors do not have any data to evaluate and forecast their performance for the future, which makes it very risky.

While almost every Forex broker will promise a lot but are known to not necessarily deliver, it is more important than ever to find the best Forex broker for you in order to make a sizeable profit in the months to come.

So here are a few tips by which you can find the best Forex broker for your investing success:

#1: Account Types

The first thing that you should do when going through the different options of brokers and the services that they offer, you must look for whether or not, the broker that you like has both a normal and mini-account. The latter is designed for those who are new to Forex investing or for those with limited investment capital.

#2: Tools provided and value-added services

Since the entire objective of investing your money in the Forex market is to make smart trading decisions, it is important for you to find the broker which offers you the best resources and information available to Forex traders. Real-time charts and news, technical analysis tools and so on and so forth are important services that can be of great use to the Forex trader.

#3: Support

There’s no doubt that this is one of the most important things that is required because just as the Forex market is 24-7, so should your broker’s support be the same just in case something goes wrong or needs to be clarified. Checking with their internet helpdesk should tell you how soon they respond before buying the product.
